Friday 26th October 7:00pm - SOLD OUT
The Shorts Finale - Langdale Hall
The red carpet night of the festival
We'll be presenting to the audience the very best short films submitted to Witney Film Festival 2012. When we say best we mean the most innovative, imaginative, skilful or simply downright awesome. All evening we'll be serving great drinks at the bar so come down early. After the last film we'll be encouraging people to stick around for a drink or two in order to chat about their evening and their thoughts on the films - there might even be a filmmakers or two available for a chat.
Some of the films are locally produced. One film is the result of a 48 hour project with cast aged 10-14 who, among other filmmakers, will be there to introduce their short film. Another is a cracking comedy about a caricature of a man and how a toaster can solve all of your first date anxieties. We've got some really strong animations this year, among them is an unbelievably accomplished student film, the story is a fantastic combination of strength and loss. International entries include the story of a homeless man who can't believe his luck when he gets his hands on an invitation to a swanky French restaurant. A Russian filmmaker provides a beautiful reminder that it isn't easy for everyone in the world to pop down to their local cinema for the latest releases.
The screening will be amusing, emotional, and thought-provoking... And we can’t wait to share these amazing films with you all.
